Abstract: INTRODUCTION AND AIMS: Unlike dialysis in hospital, the patient can dialyze home peritoneal dialysis easily at home. For this reason, everyday social life becomes possible and it leads to the improvement of QOL (Quality of Life). However, since the opportunity of observation by a medical staff decreases, grasp of health care administration, such as a patient's prevention of infection, quantity of dialysis liquid, and grasp of a color, is difficult for home dialysis. A hospital and a patient always perform information sharing, or the opportunity of observation by a medical staff increases by building a safe information transmission system. Then, the record note by which the place having contained the image of a peritoneal dialysis patient's insertion-of-catheter portion was electronized can transmit and receive the medical information safely. And safe preservation / transmission system which can share the record note event which can perform health care administration by a medical staff easily is built. METHODS: An abdominal photograph was taken using a Skype snapshot of the catheter. The image taken by the medical staff or patient is uploaded to the Web, saved as information for the surrogate patient, and used for monitoring. In order to transmit to the hospital of the image this patient's insertion-of-catheter part safely, the Steganography technology which we developed is used. Steganography technology is the technology of hiding a patient's medical information secret into a snap shot picture (call cover picture). RESULTS: As a result of using this construction system, the simulated patient became available for videophone use. Moreover, the Web camera by the side of a patient was operated by remote control from PC by the side of a hospital. The image and medical information of the imitation patient concerned which carried out color correction were uploaded to the Web page for hospitals. Patient information such as including an insertion-of-catheter part image etc., was hidden into the cover picture using Steganography technology. At this time, when our Steganography technology was used, the capacity of the cover picture did not increase. If there is capacity change of a cover picture, it will become clear that information is hidden. Moreover, transmission time increases and preservation capacity also increases. When PSNR (Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) is 40dB or more, an evaluator does not notice change of quality of image at all. Moreover, the doctor beyond diagnostician experience 20 year was not able to detect quality-of-image change of the cover picture. CONCLUSIONS: This construction system was able to perform instruction, observation, etc. of every day of a catheter care by remote control. Moreover, progress observation of the affected part was attained by carrying out color correction of the image of the affected part photoed by the interactive television telephone call system, and saving in a database. At the time, there was no increase in the capacity of the cover image using steganography technology. And information was able to be transmitted safely. And information was able to be transmitted safely.
