Excimer or aggregate? Near infrared electro- and photoluminescence from multimolecular excited states of N^C^N-coordinated platinum( ii ) complexes

Abstract: Long wavelength (>800 nm) photoluminescence in films of Pt(N^C^N)Cl type complexes originates from aggregates of three to four units. Extremely thin neat emissive layers of 1–2 nm yield a high performance of near infrared OLEDs.
