Abstract: elaborate security procedures described in the Appendices, which protect KGB files and records, is to make a volume such as this impossible.In this instance the procedures failed.Most of the top secret documents which follow were copied or photocopied by Oleg Gordievsky while serving in the KGB Residencies at Copenhagen and London.The commentary which accompanies these documents, though written by Christopher Andrew, is based on joint analysis by both Editors.
