Abstract: يتناول هذا البحثُ بالفحص والدِّراسة كُتُب الوفيات مُبيِّنًا مفهومها، وأهمِّيَّتها، ودورها في تدوين التَّاريخ الإسلاميِّ، ويعرِّفُ بجهودِ العُلماء والمؤرِّخين العرب المسلمين في هذا الفنِّ، وهو بذلك يقع في الصَّميم من الدِّراساتِ التَّاريخيَّة. ويستهدفُ هذا البحثُ عَرض الكُتُب المؤلَّفة في الوفيات مع تعريفٍ موجزٍ بها وبأهمِّيَّتها. وسعيًا إلى هذه الغاية فقد تناول الباحثُ موضوعه من خلال ثلاثة مباحث وخاتمة، تسبقها مقدِّمة. This research deals with the examination and study of books of Deaths, showing their concept, importance, and role in the codification of Islamic history. This research aims to present the books written on deaths, with a brief definition of them and their importance. In order to achieve this goal, the researcher has dealt with his subject through three topics and a conclusion, preceded by an introduction.
