Recent trends in chemoresistive gas sensors with nanostrcutured semiconductors
Year: 2023
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: The exceptional physical and chemical properties of nano-semiconductors make these materials ideal for use in next generation technologies, such as nanoelectronics. In particular, nanostructured semiconducting films are employed as receptor units to transform chemical information of the surrounding gaseous environment into analytically useful signals in miniaturized sensors. Nowadays, due to their low cost, flexibility of production, ease of use and long-term stability, chemoresistive gas sensor are top-tier devices for the detection of a wide range of gases. The aim of this presentation is to provide an overview of recent trends in this field with a focus on the functional material characteristics and the understanding of gas sensing mechanism.
