Abstract: We examine who can work from home during the pandemic and whether this behavior will persist post-pandemic by conducting two representative online surveys in New Jersey. Results suggest those with higher educational attainment, higher incomes, and prior experience working at home are likelier to do so in the future. Pandemic skeptics were less likely to increase working from home during the pandemic or to desire doing so in the future. Nearly half of respondents indicate a desire to work more at home post-pandemic. Implications for transportation systems and economic activity will be of concern to policy makers and planners.
