Does Revisiting Multidimensional Energy Poverty Measurement Index Address Universal Energy Access?
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The study advocates for an update to the Multidimensional Energy Poverty Index, originally introduced by Nussbaumer et al. in 2012. By integrating developments from the past decade, the revised index enhances the existing indicators and provides a comprehensive framework for measuring household-level energy access. This update enables researchers and policymakers to evaluate energy access, formulate effective policies, mitigate energy poverty, and advance sustainable energy initiatives for all more precisely.
