Integrin α1 (ITGA1) is a novel biomarker of melanoma cells subjected to chemotherapy-induced senescence
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Background: Despite increasing knowledge of molecular biology of melanoma, the most aggressive type of skin malignancies, there is a need to screen specific markers of melanoma, especially drug-induced senescent melanoma. Chemotherapy-induced senescence may limit therapeutic outcome due to the accumulation of drug-resistant skin cancer cells and their removal based on specific targeting may represent a new promising strategy for preventing cancer recurrence.
