Abstract: We often talk about corruption as a social problem, though we hardly ever take into account sociology of social problems in analyzing it. However, a look at corruption from that perspective, particularly from the perspective of theories which accentuate the constructivist themes reveals quite interesting aspects of corruption. It inspires new thinking and helps to understand the difficulties which face those who are trying to fight corruption. The basic research question in this article is quite simple — why is corruption presented as a social problem and what are the consequences of such a view?
