Pedagogical Leadership as a Driver of Educational Change

Abstract: Pedagogical leadership is seen as being a key influencer in modifying educational processes such that school leaders are seen to be dynamic drivers of change. This article addresses the role played by pedagogical leadership towards improving educational quality from a qualitative perspective based on a review of literature. Latest research is used to uncover ways in which instructional and learning-focused leaders facilitate collegial school climates, instructional innovation, and sustainable school improvement. Findings indicate that pedagogical leadership not only influences learning but also teacher professionalism and school climate.
