Abstract: Spinal anesthesia has been increasingly recognized as a pivotal technique for postoperative pain control, offering significant advantages in targeted analgesia, reduced systemic opioid consumption, and expedited recovery profiles. This review aims to critically analyze the recent advancements in spinal anesthesia for postoperative pain management, elucidating the benefits, limitations, and future directions. A comprehensive narrative review was conducted using a structured search across PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar. Studies were screened based on predefined eligibility criteria focusing on recent developments, clinical outcomes, and complications. Recent literature highlights the superiority of spinal anesthesia in enhancing postoperative outcomes across a wide range of surgical procedures. However, variations in technique, drug selection, and patient-specific factors necessitate tailored approaches to maximize efficacy and minimize risks. Spinal anesthesia remains a cornerstone of multimodal postoperative pain strategies. Continuous research and technological advancements are critical to further improve patient safety and analgesic outcomes.
