Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency of the plant wastewater treatment from the municipal slaughterhouse of Baños de Agua Santa located in the province of Tungurahua, this was done based on the resulted from a water analysis carried out in December 2016 by the laboratory accredited Lacquanalysis S.A. it was determined that the following paraments were not comply with the provisions of current environmental regulations, below The following is detailed: in reference to DQO, the following result was obtained of 582 mg/l which exceeds the permissible limit 200 mg/l), in the same way prior to analysis carried out, it was determined that the DBO5 of 268,48mg/l, exceeding the maximum limits (100mg/l) resulting in it not complying with the established in the regulations, so the efficiency of the plant was analyzed. The main problem could be identified such as suspended solids, blade damage, and deteriorated surface aerator of the water treatment system. With the results obtained, an improvement, alternative was proposed an improvement, alternative was proposed to mitigate and manage the negative environmental impacts and strengthen the positive impacts
