Abstract: This article contains the views on the new Mexican mathematical free text books of first (n=23), third (n=23), and fifth (n=22) grades' teachers. Open questions interviews were used for data collection. In this research was found that different features in the text books were unlikely appreciated by the teachers. Also, distinct didactic criteria for perceiving the text books were noticed among teachers who have received in-service education, and those who have worked for more than 15 years.
