Abstract: An examination of certain central themes common to literature on technology transfer such as technological independence, appropriateness of technology and completeness of technology transfer. It is claimed that these and associated concepts form a coherent paradigm. The critique is based on contextual and historical analysis. Towards the end the paper deals with the central role of transnational corporation in transfer of technology.
