Intermittent gastroduodenal intussusception: A rare indication for an elective Roux-en-Y gastric bypass

Year: 2026
Type: article
Study design: Case Report
Abstract: Gastroduodenal intussusception is an extremely rare condition in adults, often associated with a pathological lead point such as a tumour. Given the paucity of case reports, it is generally difficult to diagnose efficiently and there is minimal evidence to guide surgical management. We present a unique case of idiopathic gastroduodenal intussusception without an associated lead point, successfully treated with Roux-en-Y gastric bypass.
