Optimized marker centrifuge prototype with structural, cooling, and stability enhancements for educational IoT environments
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents the optimization of a prototype marker centrifuge, implemented with IoT technology using an ESP32, incorporating structural, cooling, and stability enhancements. The main objective is to recover residual ink from seemingly depleted markers, promoting the reuse of school materials and sustainability in educational environments. The innovations include a cooling hopper, slotted fins to reduce air friction, and a safety structure that prevents the accidental ejection of markers during rotation. The system integrates sensors, an OLED display, LEDs, and a buzzer for visual and auditory process monitoring, as well as speed control via PWM signals. Its design was 3D printed to facilitate implementation and replication. This proposal enables engineering students to apply knowledge in programming, electronic design, and IoT technologies, consolidating practical learning with a positive environmental impact. The prototype was experimentally validated with favorable results, supporting its implementation as a teaching and learning tool.
