Abstract: In this paper, we propose a novel simultaneous wireless information and power transfer technique that employs orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing-based waveforms. The proposed scheme jointly designs specific waveform characteristics in order to enable efficient energy harvesting (EH) and lowcomplexity information transmission. Specifically, information is embedded into two dimensions by modulating the peak-toaverage-power-ratio and the power peak position. An integrated receiver with a low-complexity envelope detector is adopted and both linear EH and nonlinear EH models are considered. Based on the receiver architecture, the detection rules of the proposed scheme are defined. To address the performance degradation that can be caused by channel fading and the presence of noise, a deep neural network (DNN) that does not require channel state information is proposed for detection. The system performance is evaluated in terms of symbol error rate and average EH power. Simulation results showcase significant performance gains of the proposed scheme compared to the counterpart without DNN-based detection and other benchmarks, highlighting its importance.
