Physical Quality of Fish Waste and Moringa ( Moringa oleifera ) Leaf-Based Feed Pellets

Year: 2026
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This study aims to determine the physical quality of feed pellets based on fish waste and moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) as an alternative feed for livestock. The method used in this research is an experiment with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 different formulation treatments: FA, FB, FC, and FD, with 4 replications for the physical characteristic variables, while the organoleptic variables involved 30 panelists. The parameters observed included colour, texture, aroma, bulk density (KT), and compacted bulk density (KPT). The results showed that the best formulation was FC (40% fish waste : 40% moringa leaf) with a texture of 5.40, KPT of 0.50 g/ml, and overall good physical quality. These pellets are suitable for use as alternative feed and are recommended for further testing on livestock.
