Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of the guided inquiry learning model assisted by visual media on the problem-solving abilities in science and social studies (IPAS) of fifth-grade students at SDN 158 Palembang. Using a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design, the sample consisted of 55 students. Post-test results showed that the experimental class had a higher average score than the control class. Statistical tests indicated a significant influence of the learning model on students’ problem-solving abilities. These findings support the use of guided inquiry models and visual media to enhance the effectiveness of IPAS learning.
