Analysis of Contemporary Problems in Economic Fiqh Case Study of DSN Fatwa on Modern Economic Issues

Abstract: This research aims to examine contemporary issues in economic fiqh through case studies of fatwas issued by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) on modern economic issues, such as fintech, financial digitalization, and sharia product innovation. The method used is qualitative with a descriptive analytical approach, focusing on content analysis of DSN fatwa documents. The results indicate that DSN fatwas play a strategic role as legal norms and adaptive instruments capable of promoting sharia financial inclusion through innovative and responsive regulations, despite facing challenges such as limited human resources and regulatory harmonization. In conclusion, DSN fatwas serve as a bridge connecting classical fiqh principles with modern economic dynamics and serve as an important foundation for the development of the national sharia economy in 2025 and beyond, with recommendations for capacity building and regulatory harmonization for effective fatwa implementation.
