CampusMind: AI-Powered LMS of Smart Colleges

Year: 2026
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Administrators in today's institutions face multiple challenges in their day-to-day activities like scheduling classes, assigning instructors, tracking attendance, overseeing assignments and liaising with the school. Currently these activities are a combination of tools and manual methods. Unfortunately this approach usually results in inefficiency, dissimilarities in the databases and poor support for decision- making. To deal with these issues, this paper introduces Campus Mind, an AI Learning Management System aimed at consolidating the administrative tasks of an academic institution. Our system provides a fully functional LMS, in addition to an automated system for timetable generation and a real time faculty substitution engine employing constraint satisfactionbased scheduling with Google OR Tools CP SAT solver. Campus Mind represents courses, faculty, rooms, and time slots as decision variables and computes schedules and manages institution's preferences as weighted soft constraints. Apart from automating scheduling, the solution employs rolebased academic workflows, secure data access via Role Based Access Control (RBAC) and Row Level Security (RLS), structured communication, and datadriven dashboards designed for illuminating and monitoring the academic performance and resource consumption of the institution. Evaluation over large scale data confirms that the solution produces schedules with no breaches on strict constraints and shows real time responsiveness when substitutions of faculty were done. These outcomes advocate for Campus Mind as being a robust and highly scalable solution for the intelligent allocation of academic activities in Smart Colleges.
