SCA-Based Power Allocation for Non-Orthogonal Artificial Noise in MIMO Wireless Communication Systems

Year: 2026
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Power splitting for secrecy-capacity-optimization artificial noise (SCO-AN) is investigated in secure multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication systems. Different from conventional artificial noise designs that usually rely on the null space of the legitimate channel, SCO-AN allows the artificial-noise component to participate in the secrecycapacity optimization process. Therefore, the allocation of transmit power between the confidential information signal and the SCO-AN signal becomes an important factor affecting both Bob’s achievable rate and Eve’s interception capability. In this work, three transmission scenarios are considered, including perfect channel state information (CSI), imperfect CSI, and multi-user downlink transmission. For the single-user cases, the secrecycapacity expressions are rewritten as log-determinant difference forms, making the resulting problems suitable for successive convex approximation (SCA). For the multi-user case, the powerratio model is established by considering the precoding matrix, SCO-AN generation matrix, user SINR, and Eve’s achievable rate. Simulation results show that the proposed SCA-based power allocation method can improve secrecy capacity compared with the selected benchmark algorithms under different channel conditions.
