Abstract: In this paper we have presented the necessity of defining the domain of the operators in quantum mechanics. We have investigated some controversial issues concerning algebra of unbounded operators. Our main focus has been the position and momentum operators. We have also shown the necessity of the presence Schwartz functions in quantum mechanics. The original aim of this paper is to present some mathematical issues of quantum mechanics in an understandable form for physics students.
