Type: article
Abstract: The Airfield Lighting System (ALS) is a vital component in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of aviation, particularly under low-visibility conditions. The reliability of the electrical circuits in this system is critical to the continuity of airport operations and supports intermodal transportation functions. This study aims to analyze the reliability level of the electrical circuits in the Airfield Lighting System (ALS) to ensure the continuity of intermodal functions at Sentani International Airport. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with a system reliability analysis approach, including the identification of critical components, calculation of Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) values, and evaluation of system availability. Data were obtained through field observations, a review of maintenance documentation, and interviews with relevant technicians. An analysis was conducted on the series circuits of the runway, taxiway, and approach lighting systems to identify potential failure points that could affect the continuity of the power supply. This study is expected to serve as the basis for technical recommendations to improve the reliability of the ALS system in order to ensure flight operational safety and the continuity of intermodal functions at Sentani International Airport.
