Abstract: Background: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of Tinospora cordifolia (Giloy/Guduchi) powder as a dietary supplement on growth performance, biochemical profile and antioxidant status in commercial broiler chickens. Methods: Total 240, day-old broiler chicks of "VenCobb 400" were randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 replicates having 10 birds each viz. (1) negative control (TNC), (2) positive control (TPC; basal diet + 50 mg/kg Bacitracin Methylene Disalicylate), (3) 0.5% (T0.5) and (4) 1.0% (T1.0) Tinospora cordifolia supplemented groups. The experiment lasted for 35 days. Growth parameters were recorded, while biochemical and oxidative stress indices were evaluated at the end of the trial. Results: The findings of this study demonstrated significantly improved growth performance, with the 0.5% Tinospora cordifolia group (T0.5) achieving the maximum final body weight of 2497.70 g, significantly higher average daily weight gain and superior feed conversion ratio compared to other groups. Biochemical profile indicated significantly reduced serum total cholesterol in T0.5 and decreased alanine amino transferase (ALT) levels in the supplemented groups. Antioxidant status also improved in the supplemented birds. Conclusion: In conclusion, dietary inclusion of Tinospora cordifolia, particularly at 0.5%, enhanced growth performance, efficiency, reduced oxidative stress and exerted beneficial effects on ALT and lipid profile, making it a valuable dietary additive for sustainable poultry production.
