Abstract: Teachers are required to improve their competence through lifelong learning (LLL) in accordance with developments in science and technology. LLL activities need to be carried out in a programmed, planned, and systematic manner in order to achieve the desired competencies. MOOC is an ICT product that can support competency improvement through LLL activities. This research aims to obtain an overview of teacher awareness in Indonesia towards LLL through MOOC. There are four dimensions to measure teacher awareness of LLL through MOOC, namely self-management (SM), learning strategy (LS), information literacy (IL), and digital literacy (DL). The method used in this study was survey research using a questionnaire involving 734 teachers from 12 districts across West Kalimantan, selected using random sampling techniques. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential methods to examine variations in teacher awareness of lifelong learning through MOOCs based on gender and age. The research results show that teacher awareness of LLL through MOOCs in West Kalimantan is generally classified as good. There are differences in the LS and DL dimensions based on the teacher's gender, while based on age, there are differences in the DL dimensions for teachers in the age group under 40 years and over 40 years. This study indicates that MOOCs can facilitate lifelong learning in the rural region of West Kalimantan. Differentiated professional development initiatives, with targeted digital-literacy training for female and senior teachers and strategy-focused workshops for male teachers, could ensure all educators fully leverage these platforms for continuous learning.
