THE LIMINAL FIELD: The Shadow of the I

Year: 2026
Type: article
Abstract: Short Description A deep ontological exploration of the transition from the I to the presence, and from the presence to the Self. The text defines the “shadow of the I” as the immaterial presence capable of accessing the animic‑informational field, ultimately revealing itself as the “shadow of the Self.” Abstract The Shadow of the I examines the structural distinction between the I, presence, and the Self. The I, bound to will and materiality, cannot access deeper states of being. Its shadow — presence — must dissociate from the I to explore the energetic field and eventually the animic‑informational field where the Self resides. The text describes how presence becomes the shadow of the Self, forming a bridge between material and informational dimensions. It argues that only by understanding the nature of the Self can presence inhabit its field and acquire its capacities, transforming the shadow into the operative presence of the Self. OpenAIRE Description This work presents an ontological model of consciousness structured across three fields: material (I), energetic (presence), and animic‑informational (Self). It analyzes the transition from the shadow of the I to the shadow of the Self, describing how vibrational frequency acts as a dimensional barrier and how presence can access deeper informational structures. The text contributes to phenomenological studies of interiority, vibrational states, and the architecture of the Self. Extended Description The Shadow of the I develops a layered model of interiority in which the I, presence, and Self occupy distinct vibrational and ontological fields. The I, defined by will and material identification, cannot explore deeper states of being. Presence — the shadow of the I — emerges as the immaterial component capable of entering the energetic field. Through dissociation from the I, presence discovers a deeper animic‑informational field, revealing itself as the shadow of the Self. The work describes how vibrational frequency functions as a protective boundary between dimensions, allowing access only to states that resonate with the field’s functional condition. Presence becomes the operative bridge between the material and informational layers, enabling the modulation of states of being and the acquisition of knowledge from the field of the Self. The text concludes by redefining the shadow not as a derivative of the I but as the presence of the Self, marking a fundamental shift in the understanding of interiority and the architecture of consciousness.
