Optimized Energy Management for Residential PV-V2H/V2G Systems: A Homer-Based Validation of Cost Reduction and Self-Consumption Enhancement
Year: 2026
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: The global energy transition necessitates large-scale integration of renewable energy sources (RES) and intelligent management of electric mobility. This paper presents an intelligent and standardscompliant integration framework for optimal management of distributed energy resources (DERs) in smart grids. Building upon the VDE-AR-N 4105 standard, we propose a strong coupling approach between energy management and grid protection, extended to an ecosystem including photovoltaics (PV), stationary storage, and electric vehicles via Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. The primary objective is to design a “standards-aware” Energy Management System (EMS) capable of proactively orchestrating energy flows while ensuring grid stability. Results, validated through large-scale simulations using HOMER Pro/Grid, demonstrate a significant reduction in energy costs, near-total summer self-sufficiency, and enhanced local grid resilience.
