Abstract: This dataset contains digitized daily weather and climate information extracted from the Guan Tingfen Diary, recorded primarily in Haining, eastern China, from 1815 to 1865. The records include sky conditions, rainfall intensity and duration, snowfall, wind direction and intensity, perceptions on cold/warm, hot and humid conditions, hydrological conditions, other weather and atmospheric phenomena, and travel information.
