Une image baudelairienne du poème en prose : le feu d’artifice

Year: 2026
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: Perhaps the importance of fireworks in relation to the poetics of the prose poem has not been recognized enough by the literary criticism. Although its presence is rather discreet and punctual in Baudelaire’s work, it is nevertheless rich in meaning and emblematic of the challenges of this new poetic form. There could be a fundamental and pivotal element within this metaphor, suggesting that the concentrated energy and impactful nature (even suggestive of aggression) inherent in the prose poem genre, might find a compelling comparison in the realm of fireworks.
