Abstract: We were designed and made a mooring system for deep-sea of Suruga Bay, installed it in Senoumi Basin, and carried out observations using this system for about 3 months from November 1999 to February 2000.We analyzed data obtained on a time line on flow direction and velocity, and water temperature and salinity in a wide range of depths from the surface to deep layers. The results indicated that strong tidal variations occurred in the periods of about 12 and 24 hours, while other variations occurred in the periods in the order several to ten days even in the depths down to several hundred meters. On average over the entire period of observation, a strong current toward the southwest was predominant on the surface layer of the depths up to about 250m, while a counter current toward the north existed in the middle and deep layers.
