Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the issuance of judicial decisions and is helping to deliver faster, more efficient and more effective access to justice within the Mexican legal system. Platforms such as Google Gemini, Meta AI, Microsoft AI, Jasper, DeepL, Snatchbot, Botpress and ChatGPT are revolutionising court administration by optimising legal reasoning through balancing and subsumption techniques. AI also strengthens the grounding, motivation, management and organisation of judicial workloads.Yet its use in judicial decision making raises significant ethical debates, especially in litigation that requires the balancing of fundamental rights. This study analyses AI’s impact on the Mexican legal system, addressing issues such as online justice, evidentiary assessment and the drafting of judgments based on AI generated reasoning. In addition, it evaluates the effectiveness of the «Sor Juana» platform in drafting decisions and in providing prompt and effective justice. The applied research compares Sor Juana’s features with those of other AI systems used in court administration in order to assess its functionality.
