Ingresantes y docentes: miradas acerca del estudio universitario
Year: 2014
Type: article
Abstract: This paper discusses the grounds and results of two UBACyT descriptive and exploratory research projects during years 2006 to 2012. The main theme is about the obstacles students must overcome thorough entering university. First year at university is a critical moment in education and has its own and particular characteristics which can arise in the students specific troubles and interests that should be taken into account by their professors. By asking the students themselves we investigated how they understand and signify studying at university. From the conclusions we reached in the first research project we set another goal for the second one, also related to the components within studying activity: professors and their conceptions about how they suppose they help their students while entering university. In this paper we explain the theoretical framework, the population characteristics, the criteria used to do the selection of the samples, the data gathering methods and the results achieved by means of Grounded Theory.
