Abstract: This research aims to understand the practice of Qardh or debt in theSokongan tradition in Sonoharjo Village and to examine the Islamic legalperspective on this tradition. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitativeresearch method. It involves open interviews to explore and understand theattitudes, views, feelings, and behaviors of individuals or a group of people inSonoharjo Village. The data for the study are obtained through interviews anddocumentation with the Village Head or representative, the leader of the Sokongantradition, participants in the Sokongan tradition, as well as religious scholars andcommunity leaders.The results of this research indicate that the community's understanding ofQardh practices in the Sokongan tradition is generally good from a fiqhperspective. However, in practice, there are certain points in the implementation ofthe Sokongan tradition where the conditions for Qardh are not fulfilled.The conclusion of this thesis is that the understanding of the people inSonoharjo Village is limited to theoretical knowledge only, and there is still a lackof implementation in the practice of the Sokongan tradition. The main factorshindering the implementation of Qardh practices in the Sokongan tradition,according to Islamic law, are the lack of religious knowledge among the communityand the insufficient dissemination by religious scholars.
