Abstract: The purpose of this research was to study the factors influencing fatigue in patients with Chronic Heart Failure (CHF). Participants were 230 patients with CHF recruited from hospitals in the area of Mueang District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province. The data were collected using 1) demographic data form, 2) fatigue scale, 3) insomnia scale, 4) depression scale, and 5) social support questionnaires. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Multiple Regressions Analysis. The results revealed that the patients with CHF had fatigue at a moderate level (M = 4.39, SD = 2.36). Dyspnea, insomnia, depression, and social support predicted 66 % of the variation in fatigue in patients with CHF (R2adj = .66, p-value < .001). Dyspnea was the strongest predictor of fatigue (Beta = .45, p < .001), followed by insomnia and depression (Beta = .35 and Beta = .14, p < .01 respectively), and social support was not able to predict fatigue significantly (Beta = .03, p > .05). The findings suggest that efforts to develop interventions for fatigue management in patients with CHF should be focused on dyspnea, insomnia, and depression management.
