Targeted plasma metabolomic data (Biocrates AbsoluteIDQ p180) from the Northeastern Taiwan Community Medicine Research Cohort (NTCMRC)
Year: 2026
Type: dataset
Abstract: De-identified individual-level plasma metabolite concentrations measured with the Biocrates AbsoluteIDQ p180 kit in participants of the Northeastern Taiwan Community Medicine Research Cohort (NTCMRC; ClinicalTrials.gov NCT04839796), Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. The dataset contains 6,693 blood draws from 3,678 participants sampled between 2019 and 2024. Each row gives an anonymous participant code, the draw number within that participant, the sampling year, sex, age in years, and 143 metabolite concentrations in micromoles per litre as exported from MetIDQ, without flooring, transformation or batch adjustment. Hospital chart numbers, cohort enrolment numbers, exact examination dates and all clinical variables have been removed. The participant codes are the same codes used for the faecal 16S rRNA gene sequencing data of this cohort deposited at NCBI BioProject PRJNA1542453, so the two layers can be joined per participant. These are the metabolomic measurements underlying the manuscript "Gut commensal-pathobiont balance and leukocyte lipid-handling transcription are separately associated with a plasma ether-lipid axis linked to hepatic steatosis". The cohort, biospecimens and assay were produced by the Community Medicine Research Center of Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital and collaborating units, with support from the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan. The analysis was performed under protocol NCT07248371, approved by the Chang Gung Medical Foundation Institutional Review Board (202400297A3), in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki; all participants provided written informed consent.
