The qPCR data for R-loop and usp39 study
Year: 2026
Type: dataset
Abstract: In migratory locusts, RNase H1 (RNH1) knockdown induces R-loop accumulation in the brain and abolishes odor-guided behavior. Genome-wide R-loop mapping reveals the enrichment of candidate genes involved in olfactory regulation, where R-loop formation potentially disrupts nucleotide-binding-dependent functions. Among these, a stable intronic R-loop (USP39-RL) forms at the usp39 locus and impairs olfactory preference for plant volatiles and chemical odorants. This study establishes intronic R-loops as structural regulators of neural gene expression and provides the first mechanistic link between R-loop-mediated transcription and plant odor-driven behavior.
