Attitude of Students towards YouTube based Learning

Abstract: Human life has been tremendously affected by technology and it has also impacted education and learning in a positive way. With the easy accessibility and convenience of usage the technology and the internet has raised a doubt about the significance of traditional face-to-face learning-teaching approach in the coming future. YouTube has a wide range of educational materials. Utility of its content has now been widely researched and studies in the social sciences. Buzzetto-More (2015) emphasized that teaching and learning remain an area in which more in-depth exploration and research on the use and impact of YouTube is required.The present study enquires about the attitude towards YouTube based learning and the impact of level of education on the attitude. Data has been collected using questionnaire. Total 175 responses have been obtained. Respondents of age range from 17 years to 21 years have participated in the study. Respondents mean age is 18.76 years (SD= 2.62) and all are pursuing graduation.Results demonstrated that all the respondents have favorable attitude towards YouTube based learning irrespective of their gender. Level of education (three years of graduation) has significant impact on the attitude towards YouTube based learning. Final year students have comparatively more positive attitude towards YouTube based learning.
