Type: article
Abstract: Pearl culture is an art concerned with biological production \nof one of the finest gems, the pearl, nature's perfection \nof beauty and splendour. It is produced by the pearl oyster, a \nbivalve mollusc, living on an insignificant ground at the sea \nbottom. Man has known this gem right from the period of \nearly human civilization and had adorned himself and his woman \nwith pearls and had offered them to his gods. The soft colour \nand cool lustre of pearls produced by the oyster remain unmatched \nby any of the gems processed by man.
