Non-invasive MRI mapping of BBB water exchange rate and permeability
Description: Project Narrative The blood-brain barrier (BBB) serves as a protective barrier for the central nervous system (CNS) by preventing the entry of harmful substances such as plasma proteins and inorganic solutes. This project is expected to result in a highly sensitive imaging tool that can detect and quantify subtle BBB dysfunction, with understanding of the underlying neurophysiological mechanisms.
