Commercial Innovations as a Necessary Reinvention in Light of Consumer Expectations

Year: 2022
Type: article
Abstract: Since the 1960s, various research studies have been conducted on the issue of innovation in retail malls. They emphasize the critical significance of customer anticipation and preference dynamics in the formation and evolution of new retail formulae. The purpose of this study is to define the contours of commercial innovation and to provide elements of understanding and reflection on how this management device enables a rethinking of the outcomes of commercial exchange in a developing country like Algeria, as well as to assess the impact of these innovations on consumer behavior. The selected technique is based on the multicriteria decision-support system, which has been developed for the Ritej mall in the new town of Ali Mendjeli-Constantine.This research, supplemented with semi-directive interviews with 1,000 customers, enabled a more precise identification of the critical success elements for innovation initiatives in commercial contexts.Accordingly, these innovative habits serve as the "cornerstone" for responsiveness and market share acquisition. While shopping malls are the quintessential temples of consumption, innovation continues to be a potent lever of success in a highly competitive market. Thus, in this new economic context, the twenty-first century retail centers will increasingly serve as a place to live rather than a commercial attraction.
