Abstract: The contribution of Indonesian oil palm plantations has been criticized, especially in reports of forest destruction, destruction of peatlands, eviction of indigenous people's land, and neglect of workers' rights. This is certainly not in line with the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (HAM). Encouraging improvements to problems that occur is the basic basis for ELSAM to increase the strengthening of civil society's capacity in accessing knowledge of community rights as well as complaints and recovery mechanisms, especially in defending and advocating for the rights of communities affected by oil palm plantations. This capacity building encourages various parties to participate in supporting the availability of recovery for affected communities. It also facilitates access to grievance mechanisms, which can be accessed easily, in accordance with human rights standards, which are also related to sustainable palm oil issues. One of the efforts put forward is to provide information about the availability of available grievance mechanisms, such as: state-based judicial mechanisms, state-based non-judicial mechanisms, customary mechanisms, as well as non-state-based non-judicial mechanisms such as internal company mechanisms, RSPO institutions, to mediation and negotiation mechanisms. In its application, there are still limitations to the various mechanisms available, one of which is related to limited regional distance, the amount of costs, and limited information and language use. It is within these limitations that the government must maximize its existence, with the aim of maximizing the use of every available access mechanism.
