Abstract: This paper explores the role of social media in influencing consumer purchasing decisions, with a specific focus on Flipkart, one of India's leading e-commerce platforms. In today's digitally-driven world, platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube have emerged as key spaces where consumer perceptions are shaped and decisions are influenced.Flipkart has effectively utilized these channels to expand its digital footprint and build stronger relationships with customers. The study reveals that Flipkart's use of social media strategy-including diverse product offerings, attractive deals, easy navigation, and active customer reviews-greatly influences user preferences and buying behavior. The platform's promotion of user-generated content (UGC) and peer reviews increases credibility among prospective buyers.Influencer collaborations, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 regions, have further strengthened Flipkart's market penetration. However, challenges persist, including misinformation via fake reviews and impulsive purchases caused by overly persuasive promotions. These issues point to a need for stricter content monitoring and the promotion of ethical digital marketing practices. In summary, social media serves as a powerful engine behind consumer engagement and sales on Flipkart. To maintain long-term success, the company must focus on transparency, authenticity, and building genuine consumer trust.
