Abstract: The present issue of Contemporary Pragmatism, which is devoted to Rorty's politics, originated in the 2023 Meeting of the Richard Rorty Society (rrs) at the University of Guadalajara in Mexico. This meeting, which was hosted by Nalliely Hernández Cornejo, was a historic event given that, after previous meetings of the rrs in 2016 at Hamilton College in Clinton, NY and in 2019 at Pennsylvania State University in University Park, PA, it marked the first time that the rrs held its conference outside the United States. This was a powerful testament to the deep and on-going impact that Richard Rorty's philosophical thought continues to have in a variety of disciplines across the globe. In addition to a keynote delivered by Ramón del Castillo and a moving homage to the intellectual relationship between Richard Rorty and Richard Bernstein jointly offered by María Pía Lara and Christopher Voparil, the meeting featured an impressive array of scholars coming from the United States, Canada, Australia, Argentina, Turkey, Germany, Italy, and Ghana, in addition to Mexico.Though the papers presented at the meeting covered a variety of different issues and topics, a common theme that emerged in various papers, either explicitly or implicitly, was Rorty's politics. As a result of this, to memorialize the 2023 meeting of the rrs and to showcase the importance of Rorty's politics, Christopher Voparil, one of the editors of Contemporary Pragmatism, suggested to have a special issue on this topic precisely, and invited Sergio Gallegos Ordorica and Paul Showler as guest editors for this issue. After issuing a call for papers after the conference, we received various strong submissions including papers that had been presented at the 2023 rrs meeting. What is particularly remarkable about all these submissions is that, although they seem at first sight to address very different problems and challenges, they are
