The Integration of AI-Powered Personalization and User-Generated Content in Global Digital Marketing
Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This study examines the interplay between personalization and user engagement on digital platforms, with a particular focus on how customized content affects brand trust created by user-generated content (UGC). The results indicate that AI-driven personalization can significantly increase user engagement by presenting more relevant content and encouraging users to contribute their own content, expanding the number of UGCs. This type of generated content plays a crucial role in strengthening brand trust because user-generated content, such as reviews and posts, is often considered authentic. In addition, the continuous influx of UGCs provides valuable feedback that allows AI algorithms to gradually refine their personalization algorithms over time. These dynamics highlight a positive feedback loop in which AI personalization fosters engagement and the creation of UGCs, the resulting UGCs reinforce trust in the brand, while also further enhancing data on the effects of AI-driven personalization. To further illustrate these dynamics, this paper introduces simulated data visualizations that conceptually model key relationships between personalization, UGC behavior, and trust. Additionally, case studies of platforms such as Douyin and Xiaohongshu are analyzed to demonstrate how these mechanisms function in real-world digital ecosystems. This complementary relationship highlights the importance of integrating AI and UGC strategies and cultivating highly engaged and trusted user communities on digital platforms.
