Abstract: This article explores an important professional concern of how India's laws on insider trading affect the due diligence processes that are utilized in the context of mergers and acquisitions, or "M&A Transactions." This article also briefly discusses the penalties for breaking insider trading rules and SEBI’s investigative authority with respect to transactions that may have involved insider trading considering current occurrences.
