Abstract: This article analyzes the current state of teaching orthography in higher education. Factors hindering the development of literary pronunciation are also analyzed. Methodical recommendations for teaching difficult-to-pronounce sounds are given. The important features of exercises and tasks in the development of literary pronunciation are highlighted on the basis of evidence.
