Abstract: The present study explores consumer attitudes toward sustainable food consumption and the behavioral intentions associated with it, drawing on theoretical perspectives from behavioral psychology and sociology. The aim is to understand how individuals conceptualize sustainability in the context of food choices and which factors influence or hinder their willingness to act accordingly. A quantitative survey revealed that most participants associate sustainable consumption with concrete actions, such as reducing food waste and choosing local or organic products. Although the general attitude toward sustainability is highly positive, the realization of these intentions is often limited by practical barriers—such as higher prices, limited product availability, or lack of information. The findings confirm that sustainable behavior depends not only on personal values but also on broader environmental and social factors. The study underscores the importance of education, accessible information, and supportive conditions in encouraging more responsible consumption practices.
