Abstract: This study was motivated by the low listening skills of Grade III students at SDN 10 Lembah Melintang in Indonesian language learning, which was associated with the use of conventional learning media such as books and pictures. This study aimed to determine the effect of using paper puppet media on the listening skills of Grade III students. The research used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population consisted of 47 Grade III students in the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample used saturated sampling, with Grade IIIA consisting of 22 students as the experimental class and Grade IIIB consisting of 25 students as the control class. Data were collected using a listening-skills observation sheet consisting of 22 valid and reliable items based on six indicators: auditory engagement, causal understanding, inference making, understanding of character and purpose, attribution of intention and emotion, and story resolution. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 27 through descriptive analysis, normality and homogeneity tests, followed by an Independent Sample T-Test. The experimental class obtained a mean posttest score of 88.42, while the control class obtained 76.35. The hypothesis test produced t-count = 8.165, t-table = 2.014, and Sig. (2-tailed) < 0.001. Therefore, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. The findings indicate that the use of paper puppet media had a positive and significant effect on students' listening skills.
