Meningkatkan Kemampuan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi Melalui Pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (ctl) Berbantuan Padlet Pada Murid Kelas Viii-c Di Smp Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya

Abstract: This classroom action research (CAR) aimed to improve the ability of eighth-grade students (class VIII-C) at SMP Muhammadiyah 4 Surabaya to write observation report texts through the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach assisted by Padlet. The study followed the Kemmis and McTaggart model, with planning, action, observation, and reflection stages carried out in two cycles after a pre-cycle. The subjects were 22 students (13 boys and 9 girls), and each meeting lasted 2 lesson hours of 35 minutes (70 minutes). Data were collected through writing tests scored with an analytic rubric, observation sheets on the implementation of the CTL components, field notes, and documentation of the Padlet boards, and were analyzed descriptively. In the pre-cycle, students were still confused about mapping observation data, with a mean score of 54.73 and no student reaching the mastery criterion of 75. In cycle 1, students began to map data into facts and opinions, and the mean score rose to 71.27, with 10 students (45.5%) reaching mastery. In cycle 2, students were able to turn the mapped data into a complete observation report text, and the mean score rose to 84.23, with 20 students (90.9%) reaching mastery. The CTL components, especially inquiry, learning community, modeling, and reflection, were carried out through real objects in the school environment and documented on Padlet.
